Synopsis

Assault on Tuanul

"We’ve got company."―Poe Dameron

Flametroopers open fire on the village of Tuanul.

Approximately thirty years after thedestruction of the second Death Star, Luke Skywalker, the last known surviving Jedi, has disappeared. Both the First Order, a successor to the fallen Galactic Empire, and the Resistance, a military force backed by the New Republic and led by Luke’s twin sister,General Leia Organa, scour the galaxy in an attempt to find him.

Resistance pilot Poe Dameron was sent on a secret mission to the village ofTuanul on the desert planet Jakku, to meet with village elder Lor San Tekka, who had obtained a star-chart to Luke Skywalker’s location. During the meeting, First Order stormtroopers under the command of Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma attacked the village. Poe and hisastromech droid BB-8 attempted to flee in their X-Wing starfighter, but a pair of stormtroopers disabled the engines. With no alternative, Poe gave the star-chart to BB-8 and ordered the astromech to flee. Poe remained behind to cover BB-8’s escape.

After stormtrooper FN-2187 was deployed, his friend FN-2003 was hit withblaster fire by Poe. FN-2187 went to help his squadmate, but FN-2003’s wound proved fatal, wiping his blood on FN-2187’s helmet. This deeply affected the stormtrooper, and when ordered by Kylo Ren to kill the villagers, he refused to fire. When Poe tried to take a shot at Ren, the Knight casually caught the blaster bolt in mid-air with the Force. Poe was subsequently taken prisoner, while the rest of the villagers were slaughtered.

Escape from the Finalizer

"Do exactly as I say and I can get you out of here."―Finn to Poe Dameron[src]

Finn and Poe Dameron walk through the halls of the Finalizer to escape.

Returning to the Finalizer, FN-2187 felt significant stress from the mission, and Phasma noticed his distress. She told him to submit his blaster to be checked, making sure he fired a shot. Knowing he would be re-evaluated and discovered for not firing on the villagers, and with his faith severely shaken in the First Order, he decided to desert. After failed attempts of torturing Poe for vital information about the star-chart of Luke Skywalker’s location, Ren used his mind probe Force power to get the information from Poe in his head. Ren learned that the star-charts were located within BB-8, and informedGeneral Hux about the revelation.

FN-2187 freed the captured Poe Dameron from his cell, and the two stole a Special Forces TIE fighter. FN-2187 manned the guns, killing several of his former comrades in the hanger, and then disabling the Finalizer’s turbolasers. During the escape, Dameron asked the stormtrooper his name, to which he replied with his number. Not content with calling a man a number, Dameron named the trooper Finn, from the FN in his number. Finn liked the name, and went on to use it. Dameron also told him that the map vital to the Resistance was located within his astromech droid. The TIE was hit by a missile fired from theFinalizer, sending it spiraling towards the planet below

Escape from Jakku

"I’ve had a pretty messed up day, alright?"―Finn to Rey[src]

Finn and Rey observe nearby Stormtroopers that are looking for BB-8.

Elsewhere on Jakku, BB-8 encountered ascavenger named Rey while struggling against being captured by a green-skinned humanoid scavenger namedTeedo. She freed the droid and sent it on its way, but BB-8 was insistent on remaining with Rey.

Finn and Dameron ejected from the TIE shortly before it crashed, each landing separately some distance from the wreck. Making his way to the crash, he found Poe’s jacket, but no other sign of the man, and the fighter sunk into the sand. Believing Dameron to be dead, he discarded his armor and eventually arrived at the nearest settlement for water.

When returning to a settlement to collect payment on scrap, two thugs hired byUnkar Plutt attempted to steal the droid, but Rey fended them off with her staff. BB-8, with Rey, then saw Finn and identified the jacket Finn was wearing as that of its owner, so Rey attacked Finn, believing him to be a thief. After Finn explained his intentions, as well as claiming to be another member of the Resistance, the First Order tracked Finn to the settlement, and launched an airstrike in attempt to search for BB-8 and the star-chart. Rey, Finn, and BB-8 managed to escape Jakku in the Millennium Falcon by flying it through the Graveyard of Giantswhile Finn fired on and destroyed the pursuing TIE fighters. With the TIE fighters destroyed, they escaped into space.

Skirmish aboard the Eravana

"Chewie, we’re home."―Han to Chewbacca[src]

Han and Chewie are reunited with the Millennium Falcon once again.

The Falcon broke down and left them stranded. The ship was in major need of repairs, so Finn, Rey and the BB-8 began working to fix it. While they were working on repairs, the ship was caught in atractor beam by a freighter. Initially believing themselves to be captured by the First Order, they met their real captors: Han Solo and Chewbacca, the former owners of the ship. Upon boarding their old vessel, Han and Chewie went about inspecting their ship and found two stowaways, Rey and Finn, who he assumed were the thieves that had stolen the Falcon. When Rey and Finn explained that they were going to take a droid named BB-8 to the Resistance as he had a map that would reveal Luke’s location, Han and Chewie agreed to help them.

Unfortunately, Han’s freighter, theEravana, had been boarded by two notorious criminal factions, the Guavian Death Gang and Kanjiklub, whom Solo was indebted to. Not wanting Rey and Finn to be involved, Han placed both of them in the lower corridors of the freighter while he and Chewie went to meet with the criminals, with BB-8 accompanying them. The smuggler tried but failed to convince both parties that he would fix things eventually, with the Guavian Death Gang negotiator, Bala-Tikrecognizing the BB-8 astromech droid from a First Order bounty placed on it. They demanded that Han hand over the droid and any stowaways he might have on board. As the scuffle continued, Rey accidentally released three rathtars. They successfully escaped the gangs and jumped into hyperspace in the Falcon. Bala-tik then ordered his men to inform the First Order that Han Solo and the droid unit are aboard the ship.

Meeting with the Supreme Leader

"Our strategy must now change."―Snoke to General Hux[src]

At Starkiller Base, a planet converted into a superweapon, powered by draining a star, and capable of destroying star systems, Kylo Ren and General Hux were summoned by Supreme Leader Snoke. Hux suggested to use the Starkiller Base superweapon to destroy the government of the New Republic and the Resistance. Snoke granted Hux the permission to do so. Snoke revealed to Ren that the astromech droid containing the star-chart now resides in the Millenium Falcon along with his father, Han Solo. Ren learned from him that to overcome the temptation of the light side of the Force, he would have to kill his father.

Journey to Takodana

"I have lived long enough to see the same eyes in different people."―Maz Kanata[src]

Han, Rey, Finn, and BB-8 travel to Maz Kanata’s castle.

Han explained that Luke tried to rebuild the Jedi Order, but an apprentice of his turned to the dark side and became Kylo Ren, destroying all that Luke had built, including the other Padawans that Luke had trained. Feeling responsible and blaming himself for the failure, Luke went into exile.

Solo took Rey, Finn, and BB-8 to the planet Takodana to meet with Maz Kanataat her castle. Han said that she had run her castle for over a thousand years. Unbeknownst to all, spies from different sides have taken notice of the group.Bazine Netal alerted the First Order, and a droid spy alerted the Resistance. While Han and Chewie spoke with Maz, Finn headed out to make a deal of his own. Finn hired Sidon Ithano and his first mate Quiggold to take him away to the Outer Rim for work. Rey implored Finn not to leave, but to help the Resistance instead. Finn, however, insisted on leaving, to disappear from all his troubles.

The conflict within

"Forgive me. I feel it again… the call from light. The Supreme Leader senses it. Show me again, the power of the darkness, and I’ll let nothing stand in our way. Show me, grandfather, and I will finish what you started."―Kylo Ren to Darth Vader’s mask[src]

Kylo Ren seeks guidance from his grandfather, Darth Vader.

Attempting to seek guidance from his grandfather, Darth Vader, Kylo Ren sits quietly in his meditation chamber. In front of him is the burned helmet of Vader, recovered from the funeral pyre on Endor. It’s been carefully enshrined in a place of honor. Kylo senses a disturbance in the Force, and reveals that the light is pulling him in again. He then asks his grandfather to show him the darkness, and to pull him back to the dark side of the Force. Having lost the pilot Poe and failing to recover the item he is after, he expresses his regrets as if speaking to the ghost of Vader.

A call from the Force

"Rey… these are your first steps."―The voice of Obi-Wan Kenobiduring Rey’s vision[src]

Luke Skywalker and R2-D2 as seen in Rey’s Force vision.

After Finn leaves, Rey hears the screaming of a young girl and finds herself wandering deeper into the Castle to find the source. She descended to a sub-chamber that was filled with relics of the past. There she was called by the Force to a lightsaber that had previously belonged to Anakin Skywalker and his son Luke.

Upon touching the lightsaber, she received a series of visions. Rey glimpses moments in time from the saber, in which she found herself in Cloud City whereLuke battled Darth Vader, she then saw Luke placing his metallic hand on top ofR2-D2 near a fire, and then she found herself lying in the rain at night and woke up to see the Knights of Ren surrounded by slaughtered victims. She then noticed herself as a child watching the departure of her parents, yelling out to them to come back, and being told to quiet herself. Rey then found herself being chased by Kylo Ren in a snowy forest. Rey pulled herself out of the vision in terror. After the vision, Maz Kanata explained to her the lightsaber’s history and that it was now calling to her. Frightened by her vision, Rey refused to keep the lightsaber, running off into the woods with BB-8.

Destruction of the Hosnian system

"Today is the end of the Republic!"―General Hux[src]

General Hux orders the firing of the Starkiller Base superweapon.

After gaining Supreme Leader Snoke’s permission to fire the Starkiller Base’ssuperweapon, Hux chose the Hosnian system, which hosted the capital of theNew Republic, Hosnian Prime, as well as the New Republic Starfleet, in order to demonstrate the power of the First Order in an attempt to wipe out the "illegitimate" government of the New Republic in one fell swoop. The test was a success and Hosnian Prime, home of theGalactic Senate, four other planets in the system, and an unknown percentage of the New Republic fleet were annihilated by the First Order’s superweapon. The destruction of the Hosnian system was visible from the surface of Takodana. This prompted Finn to re-evaluate his choice to leave.

Battle on Takodana

"I need a weapon!"
"You have one!"―Finn and Maz Kanata[src]

Rey watches Maz Kanata’s castle being under attack.

The First Order, tipped off to BB-8’s presence, arrived to Takodana and attacked Maz Kanata’s castle. Flying in with TIE fighters and Atmospheric Assault Landers, the First Order swiftly assaulted the castle and leveled it, killing many of its inhabitants. BB-8 followed Rey into the forests surrounding the castle, and the First Order was unable to locate the droid until a stormtrooper officer reported to Kylo Ren that the droid had been sighted in the company of a girl. Ren deployed stormtroopers to the woods before heading into the woods himself, hunting Rey down and eventually cornering and capturing her.

During the fighting at the castle, despite killing multiple stormtroopers, Han, Chewbacca, and Finn were captured by the First Order. However. Resistance T-70 X-wing fighters led by Poe Dameron, arrived to fight the First Order. A fierce dogfight ensued and resulted in the destruction of many First Order TIEs and the deaths of many stormtroopers from X-wing strafing runs.

Back in the woods, Kylo Ren was notified of the Resistance attack by another stormtrooper officer, who asked him to call in more troops. Rey encountered Kylo Ren at the woods, and shot at him with her blaster pistol, but Kylo restrained her using the Force, and captured her. Ren ordered the First Order to pull out, saying they had what they came for. As the battle raged on above the castle, the remaining First Order troops boarded their ships and retreated, taking the captured and unconscious Rey along with them. Despite the First Order being driven off, Han witnessed his son carrying Rey away.

Reunited at the Resistance Base

"How can I reach him when Luke couldn’t?"
"Luke was a Jedi, you’re his father."―Han and Leia[src]

Han Solo and Leia Organa are reunited.

Han is reunited with Leia when he, Chewbacca, and Finn are brought to the Resistance base on D’Qar. BB-8 encounters the astromech droid R2-D2, who, as C-3PO explains, has been dormant since Luke’s disappearance. It is revealed that Han and Leia are aware that their son is Kylo Ren, and that their son’s fall to the Dark Side caused them to separate, with Han returning to his smuggling business, and Leia spearheading the activities of the New Republic and the Resistance. As Starkiller Base prepared to wipe out the world of D’Qar, the site of the Resistance’s headquarters, the Resistance planned an attack of their own. Finn had given them the Base’s blueprints, which revealed a critical weak point that, if destroyed, would eliminate the Base. However, they would need to do it before the base fully charged its weapon.

Rey’s capture

"You’re afraid… that you will never be as strong as Darth Vader!"―Rey to Kylo Ren[src]

Rey was brought to the Starkiller Base and interrogated by Kylo Ren, wanting information on the map to Luke Skywalker. However, the darksider had a difficult time probing her mind, and Rey was able to reach into Ren’s mind. In the silence and intensity of the moment, Rey mentally fights back and, with an intense gaze, tells him that she senses his fear sensing his fear at being weaker than his maternal grandfather Darth Vader. Upon realizing that she was Force-sensitive, she used a mind trick on her stormtrooper guard, allowing her to escape. Rey then made her way through the Starkiller Base, honing her Force abilities while using stealth. Kylo revealed to Snoke that Rey had the ability to use the Force, and Snoke commanded Kylo to bring Rey to him. When Kylo discovered that Rey escaped, he threw a fit of rage.

Battle of Starkiller Base

"Give it everything you’ve got!"―Poe Dameron[src]

The battle over the trenches of Starkiller Base.

Han Solo piloted the Millennium Falcon to Starkiller Base accompanied byChewbacca and Finn. Their objective was to disable the shields and allow the X-Wing squadron to strike, although Finn’s main objective was to rescue Rey. Flying through the shields at lightspeed, theFalcon landed roughly on the edge of a cliff. Han, Chewbacca, and Finn snuck into the main base and captured Captain Phasma, who they forced to disable the shields before disposing her in a garbage chute. They reunited with Rey, who had already escaped on her own. With the shields down, Blue Squadron and Red Squadron led by Poe Dameroncommenced their assault. They fired on the base’s weakpoint, but failed to destroy it as the First Order sent TIE Fighters to stage a counterattack and throw the Resistance into chaos.

Finn prepares for his lightsaber duel against Kylo Ren.

Seeing this, Han, Chewbacca, Finn, and Rey tried creating an opening by planting thermal detonators inside the base. Han then confronted his son, Kylo Ren, named Ben at birth, on a bridge over a large pit, pleading with his son to reject Snoke and return to the light side of the Force. Ben, removing his mask and seeming almost regretful, handed his lightsaber to Solo, and asks for his father’s help, in which Solo replied that he would do anything for him. Ben then thrusted his weapon through Han’s chest. Witnessed by Rey, Finn, and Chewbacca, Han stroked his son’s face for the last time, before falling to his death. Enraged, Chewbacca, Rey and Finn start firing at Ren and the stormtroopers. Chewbacca injured Ren with his bowcaster, but Ren chased them out of the base. Ren caught up to Finn and Rey in the forest, and knocked Rey out by Force pushing her into a tree. An angered Finn pulled out Luke’s old lightsaber and attacked Ren in a rage. However, Ren easily overpowered the former stormtrooper and dealt him a grievous injury. Suddenly, Rey usedtelekinesis to pull the Skywalker’s lightsaber into her hand and attacked Ren.

Poe flies in and destroys the base’s weak point.

During this time, the thermal detonators went off in the base, allowing Poe to fly in and destroy the base’s weak point thirty seconds before it drained the sun to charge the superweapon. This caused a chain reaction to go off, which destroyed the base and leveled the entire planet’s terrain. Rey and Ren continued fighting, and Ren initially held the advantage. However, by calling on the Force, Rey was able to overpower Ren and deal him a severe wound while breaking his lightsaber. They were separated, however, due to a trench forming between them. Rey returned to Finn and began to despair as Finn would not wake up and they were trapped on the rupturing planet. However, Chewbacca arrived with the Millennium Falcon to rescue them. Inside the main base, chaos abounded as General Hux had departed and there was no way for anyone to escape. Hux, meanwhile, reported to Snoke, who ordered him to rescue Ren in order to complete his training and to flee the Base. The Millennium Falcon and the remainder of the Resistance fleet managed to escape Starkiller Base as it erupted into a ball of fire, and entered hyperspace to return to D’Qar.

Locating Luke Skywalker

"May the Force be with you."―Leia to Rey[src]

The Resistance celebrated their victory while Leia, Chewbacca, and Rey mourned Han’s death. R2-D2 suddenly awoke and revealed that he held the map to Luke’s location, with the only piece of the map missing being the one BB-8 was given by Poe. Together they completed the map and revealed the location of the planet on which Luke Skywalker was hiding. Finn was recovering in the medical unit, and Rey kissed him on the head and thanked him for everything as he slept. With R2-D2 and Chewbacca in tow, Rey followed the map to the distant planet, and journeyed across the island of the planet, which she had previously seen in her visions. She came across Luke and presented him with his old lightsaber.

Obama 1Many have done nothing but complain since the day President Obama was inaugurated in 2009. Basically, they scream because he’s not perfect, and sound like petulant children; adults don’t expect perfection. But when they claim he’s no progressive, well, that’s just an outright lie. What do these folks think “progressive” means? The root word is “progress,” and there has been a lot of progress since January 20, 2009. Admittedly, most progress happened during his first two years, but as I recall, one reason Republicans took back the House was because many progressives thought Obama was a “disappointment,” and Democrats were “spineless.”

This year, we repeated our incredible screw-up, and many progressives still prefer to complain about the imperfection of Democrats than to work to get rid of the right wing GOP.

Here is a list of many of President Obama’s accomplishments as President. Every one of them has a citation, so no one can dismiss them as lies. Every time someone complains that Obama’s not progressive, send them the link, or print it out and hand it to them. This list is growing constantly, even with an obstructionist Republican Congress trying to stop everything he does.

Being progressive is not about having the correct positions on issues. Even with the obstacles, this President will leave a legacy. If we want to win elections – and in a democracy, that has to be our main goal – we have to make people want to vote for us. That means accentuating the positive, and talking about how great we are, especially compared to the alternative.

12. SpunYear: 2002

Director: Jonas Åkerlund
A drug fueled ride of dizzying proportions, Spun may not be award-worthy but its choppy, darkly comedic, and hyper depictions of the daily ins and outs of various lowlifes (Jason Schwartzman, Mickey Rourke, Brittany Murphy, John Leguizamo) involved in a crystal-meth drug ring is fascinating, visceral and never boring.—Caitlin Colford

plan-9.jpg
11. Plan 9 from Outer Space
Year: 1959
Director: Ed Wood
The “best worst” horror movie of all time. Whether its the stringed hubcap flying saucers, visible pillows found in the graveyard, or even the very concept of aliens destroying humanity by reanimating the dead, this movie is just so ridiculously flawed in the best way possible. The debacle starts with an alien monologuing that “future events such as these will affect you in the future.” With apologies to Troll 2, it’s safe to assume that this was, is and will always be the best worst movie of the past, present, and, indeed, the future.

Director: Victor Halperin and Edward Halperin
Bela Lugosi may be remembered as the cinematic face of 1931’sDracula, but the Hungarian icon hypnotized audiences a year later as a voodoo master in White Zombie, considered the first feature about the walking undead. While the modern zombie subtext tackles such millennial fears as disease and social anomie, this grim tale and those it influenced focus on such evils as slavery and exploitation (check out 2008’s Dead Girl for a modern interpretation). Brothers Victor and Edward Halperin direct an atmospheric nightmare about a Haitian wedding from hell, creating a new horror genus in the process.—Sean Edgar

Year: 2009
Director: Davis Guggenheim
Filmmaker Davis Guggenheim, the director of An Inconvenient Truth, brings Jimmy Page, The Edge and Jack White together to talk about guitars and if they feel the urge, to, you know, jam a little. The result is a film that works as a brief chronicle of each musician’s life and career—chock full of old clips, photos, concert footage, recordings, and visits to pivotal locations—and a testament to the allure of a particular stringed instrument. Though the much touted jam summit itself is the disappointing part, the film is still plenty of fun.—Robert Davis

The 8 Witnesses of the Nephi Plates

These witnesses cannot stand the test of examination and no one can we trust their testimony!

Lies Mormons tell about the three witnesses:
Every book of Mormon makes these statements in the inside cover of title page:

The Testimony Of Three Witnesses:
BE IT KNOWN unto all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people, unto whom this work shall come: That we, through the grace of God the Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, have seen the plates which contain this

record, which is a record of the people of Nephi, and also of the Lamanites, their brethren, and also of the people of Jared, who came from the tower of which hath been spoken. And we also know that they have

been translated by the gift and power of God, for his voice hath declared it unto us; wherefore we know of a surety that the work is true. And we also testify that we have seen the engravings which are upon the

plates; and they have been shown unto us by the power of God, and not of man. And we declare with words of soberness, that an angel of God came down from heaven, and he brought and laid before our eyes, that we

beheld and saw the plates, and the engravings thereon; and we know that it is by the grace of God the Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, that we beheld and bear record that these things are true. And it is

marvelous in our eyes. Nevertheless, the voice of the Lord commanded us that we should bear record of it; wherefore, to be obedient unto the commandments of God, we bear testimony of these things. And we know

that if we are faithful in Christ, we shall rid our garments of the blood of all men, and be found spotless before the judgment-seat of Christ, and shall dwell with him eternally in the heavens.. And the honor

be to the Father, & to the Son, & to the Holy Ghost, which is One God. Amen.’

Signed: Oliver Cowdery & David Whitmer & Martin Harris

And Also The Testimony Of Eight Witnesses

BE IT KNOWN unto all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people, unto whom this work shall come: That Joseph Smith, Jun., the translator of this work, has shown unto us the plates of which hath been spoken, which

have the appearance of gold ; and as many of the leaves as the said Smith has translated we did handle with our hands; and we also saw the engravings thereon, all of which has the appearance of ancient work,

and of curious workmanship. And this we bear record with words of soberness, that the said Smith has shown unto us, for we have seen and hefted, and know of a surety that the said Smith has got the plates of

which we have spoken. And we give our names unto the world, to witness unto the world that which we have seen. And we lie not, God bearing witness of it.

Signed: Christian Whitmer & Hiram Page & Jacob Whitmer & Joseph Smith, Sen. Peter Whitmer, Jun. & Hyrum Smith & John Whitmer & Samuel H. Smith

B. Overview of the three witnesses:

Most of the witnesses are related by blood.
The three witnesses were all of questionable character
Joseph Smith said Dec 16, 1838, "Such characters as McLellin, John Witmer, David Witmer, Oliver Cowdry, and Martin Harris are too mean to mention; and we had liked to have forgotten them." History of the

Church, Vol 3, p232
Brigham Young said, "Some of the Witnesses of the Book of Mormon, who handled the plates and conversed with the angels of God, were afterwards left to doubt and to disbelieve that they had ever seen an angel."

(Journal of Discourses, Vol 7, page 164, 1859, Brigham Young.)
All three witnesses were eventually excommunicated from the Mormon church.
Two of the three witnesses who were excommunicated from the Mormon church later returned to the church after denying their testimony. Imagine if any one of the apostles denied their witness that Jesus rose from

the dead, were kicked out of the early church, then returned again. Their testimony would be of no value. Remember that all three denied the Mormon faith at one point, and one never came back to the Mormon

church going to his grave denying his testimony, yet Mormons still use his testimony for the book of Mormon. In fact, David Whitmer never returned to the LDS church that he was a witness for, but joined

splinter groups that denied the original LDS church he was first a member of.
C. Specific details of the three witnesses:

False Witness #1: Martin Harris:

Was known for being very unstable religiously. Over his whole life he changed his affiliation over 13 times.
Martin Harris was first a Quaker, then a Universalist, next a Restorationist, then a Baptist, next a Presbyterian, and then a Mormon.(Mormonism Unveiled, E. D. Howe, 1834, pp. 260-261)
After Martin Harris’ excommunication in 1837, he changed his religion eight more times, going from the Shakers to one Mormon splinter group to the next, and back to the main group in 1842.(Improvement Era,

March 1969, p. 63 and Journal of Discourses, vol. 7, p. 164, Brigham Young)
In 1846, (after his excommunication in 1837) Martin Harris was preaching among the Saints in England for the Apostate James J. Strang. (Church Chronology, Andrew Jensen, 1899, p. 31; Millennial Star, vol. 8,

Nov. 15, 1846, pp. 124-128.)
He signed his name to a statement: "Testimony of three witnesses: We Cheerfully certify…The Lord has made it known to me that David Witmer is the man. David was then called forward, and Joseph and his

counselors laid hands upon him, and ordained him to his station, to succeed him…He will be prophet, seer, Revelator and Translator before God." Signed Martin Harris, Leonard Rich, Calvin Beebe. Of course this

never came to pass as Brigham young became Joseph Smith’s successor.
The Mormons stated of Martin Harris and a few other men within the pages of the church’s official newspaper at the time, "a lying deceptive spirit attend them…they are of their father, the devil…The very

countenance of Harris will show to every spiritual-minded person who sees him, that the wrath of God is upon him." Latter-Day Saint’s, Millennial Star, Vol 8 pp124-128.
Phineas Young wrote to his older brother Brigham Young on December 31, 1841, from Kirtland, Ohio: "There are in this place all kinds of teaching; Martin Harris is a firm believer in Shakerism, says his

testimony is greater than it was for the Book of Mormon" (Martin Harris – Witness and Benefactor of the Book of Mormon, 1955, p. 52)
Martin Harris testified that his testimony for Shakerism was greater than it was for Mormonism. The Shaker’s "Sacred Roll and Book" was also delivered by an angel. (Case Against Mormonism, Tanner, Vol. 2, pp.

50-58; Martin Harris-Witness & Benefactor, BYU 1955 Thesis, Wayne C. Gunnell, p.52.)
In the Elder’s Journal for August, 1838, Joseph Smith denounces Martin Harris as "so far beneath contempt that to notice him would be too great a sacrifice for a gentleman to make. The Church exerted some

restraint on him, but now he has given loose to all kinds of abominations, lying, cheating, swindling, and all kinds of debauchery."(Gleanings by the Way, J. A. Clark, pp. 256-257)
Like David Whitmer, Martin Harris later testified that he did not see the plates literally with his fleshly eyes: He said he saw the plates with "the eyes of faith and not with the natural eyes". This we

believe is the truth but it should eliminate him automatically as a witness none the less. This of course proves Mormonism is a fraud and that the Nephi Plates never existed and no one actually saw them. (The

Braden & Kelly Debate, p. 173)
False Witness #2: David Whitmer:

David Whitmer said in 1887: "If you believe my testimony to the Book of Mormon; if you believe that God spake to us three witnesses by his own voice, then I tell you that in June, 1838, God spake to me again by

his own voice from the heavens, and told me to ‘separate myself from among the Latter-day Saints…’" Address to all believers in Christ, p27, 1887
David Whitmer belonged to at least three Mormon splinter groups at different times, but he died still rejecting the LDS Church and its priesthood.
Like Martin Harris, David Whitmer later testified that he did not see the plates literally with his fleshly eyes: He said he saw the plates "by the eye of faith" handled by an angel.(Palmyra Reflector, March

19, 1831)
David Whitmer changed his story about seeing the plates and later told of finding them lying in a field and later still, told Orson Pratt that they were on a table with all sorts of brass plates, gold plates,

the Sword of Laban, the ‘Director’ and the Urim and Thumim. (Millennial Star, vol. XL, pp. 771-772)
During the summer of 1837, while in Kirtland, David Whitmer pledged his new loyalty to a prophetess (as did Martin and Oliver) who used a black seer stone and danced herself into ‘trances.'(Biographical

Sketches, Lucy Smith, pp. 211-213)
It was the start of the finish for him. It ended in 1847 in his declaration to Oliver that he (Whitmer) was to be the Prophet of the New Church of Christ and Oliver a counsellor.(Letter to Oliver Cowdery, by

David Whitmer, Sept. 8, 1847, printed in the "Ensign of Liberty," 5/1848, p. 93; also see ‘Ensign of Liberty,’ 8/1849, pp. 101-104)
In the meantime, he was excommunicated and roughly put out. His and Oliver’s families were, in fact, driven into the streets and robbed by the Mormons while Whitmer and Cowdery were away trying to arrange a

place to flee.(John Whitmer’s History of the Church, Modern Microfilm, SLC, p. 22)
Cursed by leaders such as Sidney Rigdon, David Whitmer was denounced by the Prophet Joseph Smith as a "dumb beast to ride" and "an ass to bray out cursings instead of blessings." (History of the Church, vol. 3,

p 228)
False Witness #3: Oliver Cowdery:

Oliver Cowdery was excommunicated from the Mormon church and joined the Methodist church.
In 1841 the Mormons published a poem which stated "Or Book of Mormon not his word, because denied by Oliver". Seasons and Times, Vol 2, p482
The Mormon church accused Oliver Cowdery of Adultery and claimed he had joined "a gang of counterfeiters, thieves, liars, and blacklegs".
Oliver Cowdery was the Church’s second Elder, often called the "Second President." The early day companion of Joseph Smith, he was scribe for the Book of Mormon, present at the "Restoration of the Priesthood,’

and as close to the real truth as any man.(Pearl of Great Price, JS 2:72-76)
However, in 1838 in Kirtland, Oliver confronted Joseph Smith with the charge of adultery with Fanny Alger, and with lying and teaching false doctrines.(Private Letter to Brother, Warren Cowdery, by Oliver

Cowdery, Jan. 21, 1838)
Joseph Smith denied this and charged Cowdery with being a liar.(History of the Church, vol. 3 pp. 16-18 and Elder’s Journal, Joseph Smith, July 1838.)
Church records now show Miss Alger was Smith’s first "spiritual wife." Oliver was telling the truth!(Historical Record, 1886, vol. 5, p. 233)
Cowdery was excommunicated for this and other "crimes."(History of the Church, vol. 3, pp. 16-18) Later, as a Methodist, he denied the Book of Mormon (Times and Seasons, vol. 2, p. 482 and Improvement Era, Jan.

1969, p 56 and "Oliver Cowdery-The Man Outstanding," Joseph Greehalgh, 1965, p. 28)
Cowdery publicly confessed his sorrow and shame for his connection with Mormonism.(The True Origin of The Book of Mormon, Charles Shook, 1914, pp. 58-59)
While the Mormon church claims he rejoined them in the fall of 1848, (Historical Record, 1886, vol. 5, p. 201) they also accused him later that year, with trying to "raise up the Kingdom again" with the

Apostate, William E. McLellin.(The Mormon frontier, Diary of Hosea Stout, vol. 2, p. 336)
Oliver Cowdery was publicly charged by Joseph Smith and leading Mormons with stealing, lying, perjury, counterfeiting, adultery, and being the leader of a gang of "scoundrels of the deepest degree!"(Senate

Document 189, Feb. 15, 1841, pp. 6-9 and Comprehensive History of the Church, B. H. Roberts, vol. 1, pp. 438-439)
Joseph Smith listed Oliver Cowdery as among those, "too mean to mention; and we had liked to have forgotten them." (History of the Church, vol. 3:232)
Oliver Cowdery died claiming that the book of Doctrines & Covenants must be discarded.
Conclusion:

All the Mormon witnesses are as worthless as they are unreliable who recanted their testimony.
Modern Mormon "spin doctors" write all kinds of articles claiming that the witnesses may have denied the Mormon church but they never the book of Mormon. Now you know that is a lie.
Some Mormons will agree that all three witnesses denied the book of Mormon but came back to deny their denial. Imagine the twelve apostles suddenly denying Jesus rose from the dead in public, only to ask people

to ignore their denials and accept their testimony once again. This the apostles of Christ never did.
Only the deluded could possibly believe the outrageous fairytale called Mormonism.
